I'll get a little bit of soreness and stiffness from chipping and
putting practice--the bending over is what does it. I'll hit 100+ chips
at a time, probably a comparable number of putts afterward, and I can
often feel it, but it's just a little soreness.

The only real back trouble I've experienced from the golf swing was
related to trying to learn the "transition" move from "Swing like a
Pro." I was using my heavy home-made Momentus driver club (43 ounces),
taking the club back to the top, holding and then starting the hip
turn. I'd also try initiating that hip turn before the club reached the
top of the backswing.

Well, I did this for about a week and my back was talking to me in
serious language. I think I was overdoing the transition, and using the
heavy club just exascerbated the pain in the back. I stopped using the
driver trainer for a while (I still swing the iron trainer), and the
problem went away.
