TENS stands for transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulator. You get a little
box about the size of a garage door opener. There are wires and electrodes
that stick to your skin. You control the intensity of the sensations you will
feel. You also control the pattern, for instance you might make it feel like
something is tapping against you, or vibrating. The idea is that the sensation
you will feel will relieve the pain. I am wearing one now for low back pain
and I find it quite helpful. HTH!
