I can bet that once the doctor shows you the x-ray and finds something wrong, and he will find something wrong, your pain will increase. I was diagnosed with a slightly damaged disc (l5/s1) turns out every human past the age of twenty has degeneration in that disc, therefore every human should be crippled by back pain like I was right? It is nonsense. Structural abnormalities, disc herniations and even scoliosis do not cause back pain.

I recommend you read a book called Mindbody Prescription by Dr John E Sarno. He has cured, (not helped) cured thousands of back pain sufferers. Back pain is caused by your brain to distract you from unwanted emotions and repressed rage. People used to get ulcers, now they get back pain. The obsession with your back, and your attempts to make sure you don't hurt it only aid in the distraction. Physical therapy reinforces the false belief that the pain is structural in nature, and helps to prolong the pain. Any relief you will feel from physical therapy is temporary placebo effect.

Have faith. Your back is not weak, it was designed for hard work. The book is dirt cheap, and is an easy read, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
