SCARED TO DEATH

I AM A FORMERLY VERY ACTIVE 55 YEAR OLD MAINTENANCE MAN AT
A SMALL SCHOOL SYSTEM. AFTER SUFFERING SEVERE PAIN AFTER
LIFTING SOMETHING HEAVY I HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH SEVERE
SPINAL STENOSIS AT 3 LEVELS OF MY LOWER BACK. I HAVE SEVERAL
QUESTIONS WHICH I CAN'T GET A STRAIGHT ANSWER TO.
IF THEY ARE GOING TO DO A LAMINECTOMY WHY NOT PUT SOMETHING
IN THERE TO KEEP THE DISKS APART.
AM I EVER GOING TO BE ABLE TO DO ANY HARD WORK AGAIN.
I HAVE HAC SEVERE PAIN AND LOSS OF STRENGTH IN MY LEG. IS
THE NERVE DAMAGED TO THE POINT IT MAY NOT HEAL
WILL I GET ANY TYPE OF LONG TERM IMPAIRMENT OR DISABILITY
AS A RESULT OF MY INJURY.
I LOVE MY JOB AND AM SCARED TO DEATH I WON'T BE ABLE TO GO
BACK TO IT BECAUSE OF THE HEAVY LIFTING, CLIMBING LADDERS
ETC. I DO EVERY DAY.

ANY REPLIES WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

JIM
