Classic Diskectomy - L5 Ruptured Disk

Posted by Pete Savage

In Reply to: I had Lumbar Microdiskectomy surgery... There are no exercises for that. posted by Paul

I had the same symptoms that you discussed. I had a MRI and it was found to be my L5 Disk Ruptured and there were fragments. I had surgery 21/2 weeks ago and the leg pain has subsided considerably. There are no exercises and basically was told to do nothing other than walk for the first 4 weeks. I was assured I would be able to run again if I followed a sensible schedule during recooperation. I still have some numbness which is the last to leave. Ice packs periodically have brought relief.I was operated on by a nuerosurgeon not an orthropedic surgeon.
