lumbar stenosis

Posted by Connie

On May24,2001, I was hit in the lower part of my back by a very large and heavy moving food cart. .I have not doctored with a back problem and actually for a 52 yr. female am quite healthy. since the incident I have been doctoring and was told that I have lumbar stenosis and need an operation. .I now have alot of pain but didn't have any before the incident. .could the trauma of the hit have accelerated this condition?. . . .the Insurance company who has been paying for the injury now says that since it is a pre-existing condition they will not pay work comp. .I am now off work til Jan. surgery and a couple of months after wouldn't I have had pain before the work incident?
