Ron,consult as many people as you can to discuss alternatives to siurgery.I've L4-5 L5-S1 fused with the pedicle screw and bone graft.6 months postop the bars on the left side snapped.Another op was done to remove broken debris from the area.5years down the road aand I'm stil on morphine and anti inflammatories and am having trouble with L2-L-3 and L3-4. so all I can say is maybe do some pain management and if your staring to feel depressed do something about it quickly as once it really sets in its horrific. Noy what you need on top of everything else Good Luck
