shoulder blade pain

about 3 weeks ago my left shoulder blade started getting really itchy, after about a week it started feeling like there was literally something crawling under my skin on my shoulder blade
now i have pain so bad in the shoulder blade I have to take mega doses of pain killers just to get through a day...what could this be a symptom of
