I have just been diagnosed with a L5 Ruptured Disc. Can anyone explain to me why the physican ordered three weeks of physical therapy three times a week when the disk is ruptured not herniated? What types of medications are normally prescribed. I was given Prednisone and Hydrocodone. This is all new to me and I hurt like hell after the physical therapy. Today's physicans rush you in and out so that you don't have time to explain in detail nor do they volunteer the info. All you get is a diagnosis and a prescription or two. My x-rays did reveal a ruptured disk and I am scheduled for an MRI in two weeks. I am tired of hurting. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks, Terri
