I have had 2 endoscopic discectomys for L4/5 disc herniation
in terms of the surgery itself there is nothing to fear, the first time I was scared to death
but the thing is, once they hook up the IV, you just kinda "spaceout", there is no "new" pain during the surgery.

afterwards, after 3 months of PT, I felt a little better (I am led to believe that it takes almost ayear of PT to feel good)
I did a stupid thing and picked up a box and I think I reherniated.
my advice to you, is, dont fear the surgery, but no matter how you feel after it, no matter WHAT, dont do ANYTHING risky for at least a year..

I cant say if the surgery helped me because I screwed up myself..being stupid
