Re: Back muscle spasm

I am quite fit and flexible, but every night after about 5-6 hours my middle back seems to tighten gradually until it becomes almost unbearable after about an hour.
This has been happening for about 10yrs (I am now nearly 66), and back exercises don't seem to help.
There seems to be no reason or solution. I have tried different pillows, under head and back, hard and soft beds to no avail.
This seems to be a regular back spasm, and of late I have noticed sometimes a tightening of my shoulders when seated at a desk, car or armchair.
I am mainly a desk/computer worker, and wonder if anyone can help with a solution? Thanks.
