decided to look up the drug ENBREL, the drug they use for DISKCURE
There are as many "this drug is great" websites as there are "enbrel lawyers seriouos side effect" ones
Now an abridged version of these problems were given to me at the consulation, and in their opinion, the drug could only produce these effects if one was already "had blood or infection" problems
who knows, maybe If I looke dup BAYER ASPIRIN, the list of side effects might be just as long..as in "aspirin causes death in people already dying"
I dont know, but the sites about how this drug is dangerous have an air of "phenfen" about them..
also, these info is related to the treatment of arthitis with enbrel, as in for peopel that recieve regular shots, as in "once a week", not for diskcure people that apparantly only need one of 2 shots...and they are good to go.
Which reminds me, if anyone knows the answer to, "if enbrel neutralizes the chemical from disc herniation and tears, is there only a finite amount of this chemical?...: you know what I mean?
anyway, here is the scarey cut n paste
------------------------------------
Enbrel (Etanerecpt) is a drug used to treat rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn's Disease. The drug acts to suppress an immune system protein. The supression of this protein may be responsible for serious infections and cancer (especially when lymphoma).
Infections which may be related to the use of this drug include sepsis, tuberculosis (especially TB outside the lung known as disseninated or extrapulmonary tuberculosis). Other infections which have been labeled as "opportunistic," such as histoplasmosis, listeriosis, and pneumocystosis may also be associated with the use of this drug.
If a patient taking this drug has neurological symptoms such as confusion, numbness, changes in vision, and difficulty walking, then a neurologist should be consulted and a serious nervous system problem should be explored. This drug may be associated with demyelination, or the loss of myelin, the fatty sheet that coats nerve fibers and helps nerve function. One example of a demyelinating disease is multiple sclerosis, in which degeneration of nerve cells results in symptoms ranging from numbness and muscle weakness to paralysis. Some patients exhibiting these symptoms taking Enbrel have received brain biopsys and damage to nerve fibers were revealed. Also, other patients have had MRI's of their brains, which showed a demyelination in one or more areas of the central nervous system, or some other injury to nerve fibers. The average length of therapy before neurological symptoms developed was five months.
In the February 16, 2002 issue of "The Lancet," a medical journal, patients taking Enbrel reported symptoms of face reddening and body rash while taking the drug, but these symptoms disappeared when the drug was halted. These are symptoms of lupus (SLE).
The manufacturer of Enbrel has also warned about potential cases of blood disorders while using Enbrel. Such disorders include cases of pronounced reduction in circulating blood cells (pancytopenia), and loss of blood cell production due to bone marrow toxicity (aplastic anemia). Some of these cases have been fatal.
Immunex Corp, Enbrel's manufacturer, issued a public statement which said: "in the majority of these cases [referring to the blood disorders] there was a close temoral relationship between the start of treatment with Etanercept (Enbrel) and the occurence of hematological disorders (range 2 weeks to 5 months)."
