Hi,I'm 27 and female residing in southern West Virginia ;after 7 months
my family doctor has diagnosed me with this same syndrome.
I thought at first there was something wrong with my hip and
lower back, maybe just a pulled muscle or arthritis. When the pain seemed
to worsen and beyond handling with over the counter pain relievers.
Sometimes I would pitch to one side and visa versa and almost fall.
There were times I actually would fall, feeling as though my legs just gave out.
After being so scared for my kids safety one day after I feel in the shower and couldn't get up
I decided it was time to really find out what was going on.
I explained my momentary paralysis to my doctor and my excrutiating pain in my lower back and hip area, she
examed me ,exrayed, and sent me for other tests which came back as piriformis syndrome along with nerve damage
in my lower back from 2 epiderals I had during child birth.I must say I'd rather be objected to another epideral
than have the pain I have now.It has affected everything I do as a at home mom,with a 5 & 6 yr olds.At times I feel
I'm slacking on my family, there having to help do most everything that involves lifting,or picking up off the floor.I
try to mop and sweep but it seems to only cause more pain.I'm taking Skelaxin 3x a day,800 mg and Mobic 7..5 once a day,
But I see no relieve in mobic the pain reliver,I do see skelaxin working as the muscles seem to be less tight.I have had
two knee surgerys on the right leg ans one on the left unrelated to the syndrome and its very hard to try to shift weight onto another leg.
if anyone has been in my shoes and has any words of wisom or inspiration please feel free to respond.
