I had an initial consultation with Diskcure (near UCLA) in Aug 2001.
First I was asked to watch several testimonial videos, then then a
young Asian lady asked me some questions (to determine if I was a
candidate for the procedure). One of the questions she asked was
if I was taking any drugs, and I told her I had taken Naprosyn.
Then she asked me if I was taking any anti-inflammatories, and I
repeated, "Naprosyn". She told me that Naprosyn was not an anti-
inflammatory, and I told her it was an NSAID (which is a non-steroidal
anti-inflammatory drug)! I have been dealing for 10 yrs w/back pain,
and I know all the drugs, and what they are for.
Next, I'm quoted a price of $1600, with a 50% rebate if the shot was ineffective.
She wouldn't tell me what the drug was. Based on this poor experience, I
decided not to have the procedure. After several months of ineffective PT, I
decided to contact Diskcure last month, and this time I was quoted $2200. I
was told the price was increased because there is a shortage of the drug (BS!).
Does anyone know if Diskcure still offers the 50% rebate if the shot is not effective?
Does anyone know if you can get a shot of Enbrel outside the US, and where? You could
probably get the shot & have a nice vacation for a cheaper price then doing it at
Diskcure!
Good luck to all....I may still get the shot, but at this point I'm very
nervous about the potential of wasting $2200, and taking unnecessary risks
(side effects).
